- Classroom Management: Used to inform students of class requirements, post handouts, notices, and homework assignments, or act as a question and answer board.
- Collaboration: A space where teachers and students can work on writing or other skills with the advantage of an instant audience. Teachers can offer instructional tips, and students can practice and benefit from peer review. Mentoring is possible: a class of older students can help a class of younger students develop their writing skills. Students can enter their journal entries as a blog rather then in a notebook.
- Discussions: Students can discuss topics outside of the classroom. Every child has an opportunity to share their thoughts and opinions.

Using a blog in the classroom

Excellent! Great job! I would agree with you. Blogging adds the collaborative piece that validates students when they receive comments from people all over the world.
ReplyDeleteI like your idea about a question and answer board. I always get the comment at Parent Teacher conferences, "Well I didn't know...". Maybe parents would be more comfortable asking through this mode of communication rather than on the phone.
